About Famous Brands & The Delivery HUB Programme

Famous Brands Limited is Africa’s largest branded food services franchisor, owning household restaurant brands such as Steers, Debonairs Pizza, Fishaways, Wimpy, and Mugg & Bean.

The Home Delivery HUB Specialist Internship is a 12-month Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative designed for unemployed South African graduates. Operating inside centralized delivery hubs across Gauteng and Mpumalanga, interns coordinate last-mile delivery logistics, manage driver dispatch operations, monitor delivery performance metrics, and maintain high customer service standards across multiple restaurant brands.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Workstreams

In this operational logistics role, your daily deliverables will cover four core areas:

1. Delivery Hub Coordination & Dispatch

  • Daily Operations: Coordinate daily last-mile food delivery workflows serving multiple restaurant brands from a central hub.
  • Driver & Restaurant Support: Assist delivery drivers, restaurant staff, and hub managers with order dispatch, route planning, and timing.

2. Issue Resolution & Metric Tracking

  • Performance Monitoring: Track delivery dispatch times, order fulfillment accuracy, and customer service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Problem Solving: Actively resolve operational roadblocks, driver delays, missing items, and delivery complaints.

3. Hub Administration & Compliance

  • Data Reporting: Complete administrative shift logs, performance tracking sheets, and operational reports.
  • Safety Standards: Ensure full compliance with health, food safety, hygiene, and driver road safety standards.

Candidate Profile & Minimum Selection Criteria

To qualify for this 12-month YES Internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Qualification: Minimum Higher Diploma or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
    • Business Management / Business Administration
    • Hospitality Management / Supply Chain / Logistics
    • Or a related commercial field.
  • Basic Education: Matric Certificate (Grade 12) is mandatory.
  • Youth & Citizenship Status:
    • South African Citizen.
    • Aged between 18 and 28 years old.
    • Never participated in a Youth Employment Service (YES) programme previously.
    • Must not be studying full-time during the 12-month internship period.
  • Background & Computer Literacy: Clear criminal record and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Advantageous Qualities:
    • Valid motorcycle / bike driver’s license.
    • Previous exposure to hospitality, customer service, food delivery, call center, or logistics environments.
