BUFFALO is recruiting a motivated recent graduate to join their Vehicle Distribution Centre (VDC) operations as a VDC Junior Controller (Ref: REF INTG01) in Spartan, Kempton Park. This entry-level role provides hands-on operational experience in vehicle dispatching, tracking fleet delivery movements, maintaining accurate vehicle distribution records, and optimizing courier dispatch workflows.

Key Responsibilities & Fleet Control Operations

The VDC Junior Controller will manage four primary operational streams:

1. Fleet Tracking & Vehicle Movement Coordination

  • Live Tracking: Monitor real-time vehicle routes, delivery progress, and fleet movements to ensure timeous parcel distribution.
  • Dispatch Support: Assist controller leads with daily vehicle allocations, courier driver dispatches, and route optimization.

2. Operational Recordkeeping & Data Capture

  • Distribution Logs: Maintain meticulous records of vehicle departures, arrivals, mileage logs, fuel reports, and delivery handovers.
  • System Updates: Update internal logistics management software with accurate vehicle status reports and driver trip sheets.

3. Delivery Exception & Query Management

  • Issue Resolution: Communicate with drivers, fleet controllers, and hub managers to resolve transit delays, breakdowns, or route deviations promptly.
  • Customer SLA Tracking: Track on-time delivery percentages against company key performance indicators (KPIs).

4. Compliance & Warehouse Operations

  • Fleet Inspections: Conduct routine vehicle condition checks, safety equipment verification, and driver documentation reviews.
