About the Role & Opportunity
A growing tech group, recruited via Curiska, is seeking ambitious Graduate Developers for their 2027 intake based in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
Designed for recent graduates finishing their degrees in 2026, this entry-level role provides structured mentorship alongside experienced software engineers. You will build, test, and maintain enterprise software applications utilizing the .NET ecosystem, C#, SQL databases, and modern web frameworks.
Key Responsibilities & Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
The Graduate Developer will work directly with senior engineering teams across six core areas:
1. Software Design & Development
- Application Coding: Participate in the design, development, and deployment of software solutions using C#, .NET, and object-oriented architectures.
- Clean Code Standards: Write clean, maintainable, secure, and efficient code adhering to internal engineering standards.
2. Collaboration & Requirements Analysis
- Agile Collaboration: Partner with senior developers, technical leads, and business analysts to translate project requirements into functional software features.
3. Testing, Debugging & Quality Assurance
- Defect Resolution: Identify, debug, and resolve software bugs, system bottlenecks, and technical glitches.
- Unit Testing: Implement unit testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit, NUnit) to validate code stability and application performance.
4. Documentation & DevOps Exposure
- Technical Documentation: Assist in documenting software features, API endpoints, system logic, and user guides.
- CI/CD Workflows: Gain hands-on exposure to DevOps practices, automated pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for consideration for the 2027 Rosebank intake, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Completed BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering in 2026 (Mandatory).
- Core Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Basic programming knowledge in C# or Java (Mandatory).
