DSL Telecom: Software Internship 2026

Are you curious about how businesses use the cloud and AI to run smarter? DSL Telecom is seeking a self-driven Software Intern to join their team of Technology Consultants. This role is ideal for someone who wants to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and business consulting.

Position Details

  • Employer: DSL Telecom
  • Location: Somerset West, Western Cape (Office-based)
  • Stipend: R5,000 – R7,000 per month
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (8-hour shifts)

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: Preference for those studying towards or who have completed a degree/diploma in Information Systems or a related field (though not strictly compulsory for the right candidate).
  • Location: You must be based in Somerset West or the surrounding local areas, as regular office attendance is required.
  • Skills: Excellent English communication (written and verbal), strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to multitask.
  • Mindset: You should be “insatiably curious,” self-motivated, and eager to learn agile SaaS methodologies.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you won’t just be watching; you’ll be doing:

  • First-Line Support: Troubleshooting client issues and guiding them through software features.
  • Project Contribution: Assisting with documentation, testing, and quality checks during software rollouts.
  • Zoho Mastery: Learning the ins and outs of Zoho’s software suite to help clients automate their businesses.
  • Collaboration: Working with the implementation team to ensure seamless software integrations.
  • Continuous Growth: Logging support tickets and completing online certifications to sharpen your skill set.

What’s In It For You?

  • Hands-on Experience: Learn from an award-winning Zoho Premium Partner and Top Telkom Dealer.
  • SaaS Proficiency: Gain deep expertise in one of the world’s leading business software platforms.
  • Supportive Culture: Work in an environment that values ownership, accountability, and professional growth.

Career Advice: The “SaaS” Advantage

  1. Why Zoho? Zoho is a major competitor to Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics. Becoming a certified Zoho specialist is a “niche” skill that is currently in high demand among South African SMEs looking to digitize affordably.
  2. Consulting vs. Coding: This role isn’t just about writing code; it’s about Technology Consulting. You are learning how to solve business problems using existing tools. This makes you a “Business Analyst” in the making, which is a highly lucrative career path.
  3. Local Networking: Since this is based in Somerset West, it’s a great way to enter the “Silicon Cape” tech scene without the daily commute into the Cape Town CBD.
