An exciting entry-level opportunity has opened for a motivated, commercially minded Trainee: Finance to join the Motus Retail team in Polokwane, Limpopo on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This structured workplace learning program offers graduates and qualified individuals practical, hands-on experience working directly alongside experienced Finance Managers in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Workstreams
During this 12-month finance traineeship, your daily deliverables will span four main financial and operational areas:
1. Dealership Finance & Administration
- Process Support: Assist the dealership finance team with day-to-day accounting routines, invoicing, ledger updates, and financial document tracking.
- Financial Reconciliation: Support the verification of customer transactions, payment allocations, and dealership banking reconciliations.
2. Systems & Data Management
- Financial Reporting: Utilize MS Excel and automotive management systems to compile numerical summaries, financial reports, and administrative records.
- Data Accuracy: Ensure high attention to detail across all capture processes and financial documentation.
3. Workplace Learning & Professional Development
- Structured Training: Participate actively in all assigned automotive retail finance training modules, compliance workshops, and performance evaluations.
- Mentorship: Shadow experienced Finance Managers to build deep industry knowledge in automotive retail finance.
4. Customer & Stakeholder Communication
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact professionally with dealership sales teams, service departments, and external clients to resolve finance-related inquiries.
Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for consideration for this finance traineeship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (Essential).
- Diploma or BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related commercial field (Essential).
- Citizenship & Driver’s License:
- Must be a South African Citizen.
- Must hold a valid South African Driver’s License.
- Technical & Computer Skills:
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong numerical reasoning, analytical skills, and administrative capability.
- Personal Attributes & Work Ethic:
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
