Remote : PA / Virtual Assistant to MD – Sauce Recruitment

Location: Remote (Home-based in South Africa) Salary: R14,000 – R28,000 per month Job Type: Full-time (UK Working Hours) Industry: Creative Industries (Film, TV, Music, Media)

Company Profile: Sauce Recruitment (London)

Sauce Recruitment is a specialized boutique agency based in London. They don’t just “fill jobs”; they partner with iconic global brands in the creative space, such as Warner Bros, Universal, and Fremantle.

Important Note: You will be working directly for the Managing Director. This means you are his “Right Hand”—managing his time, his communications, and the growth of the business’s lead pipeline.

The Tech Stack

This role is extremely tech-heavy. You don’t need to be a master of these tools yet (training is provided), but you must be a fast learner.

  • JobAdder / Recruiterflow: The Recruitment CRM used to track every candidate and client.
  • LinkedIn & Dripify: Used for automated outreach and building “Lead Lists.”
  • Streak: A CRM built directly into Gmail to track “Warm Leads.”
  • Loom: Used for recording quick video messages to clients and candidates.
  • Google Workspace: Your daily office suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Career Advice: The “High-Value” VA

1. Professional Video Presence

The job description is clear: Do not apply if you won’t use video. In a remote, cross-continental role, video creates trust.

  • Pro-Tip: Your “Loom” introduction is your real interview. Ensure your background is clean, your lighting is good, and you speak with confidence.

2. Master the Lead Generation Funnel

You will be preparing “Lead Lists” first thing every morning. This is the lifeblood of recruitment. Understanding how to filter LinkedIn for the perfect candidate is a skill that makes you indispensable.

3. Time Zone Synchronization

You will be working UK Hours. Fortunately, South Africa (SAST) and the UK (GMT/BST) are very close in time (usually 0 to 2 hours apart depending on the season). This makes collaboration seamless compared to working with US or Asian companies.

Interview Prep: Possible Questions

  • “What is your experience with managing a CRM, and how do you ensure data accuracy?”
    • Answer: “I view a CRM as the ‘Single Source of Truth’ for the business. I am meticulous about logging every interaction and follow-up immediately so that the MD always has real-time data on the recruitment pipeline.”
  • “How would you handle a situation where the MD has multiple conflicting priorities on his diary?”
    • Answer: “I would use a priority matrix. I identify what is urgent and important (like a Warner Bros contract) versus what can be rescheduled. I would proactively suggest a new schedule to the MD before he even asks.”
  • “Why does the creative industry interest you?”
    • Answer: “It’s a fast-paced, high-energy sector. Supporting a brand that works with names like Universal or Fremantle means the quality of work must be world-class, and I thrive in high-standard environments.”

Mandatory Requirements (The “No-Go” List)

  • Hardware: Intel i5 (or equivalent), 8GB RAM + SSD storage.
  • Internet: Minimum 20 Mbps Download / 10 Mbps Upload (Fibre only).
  • Backup: You must have a secondary LTE/Mobile data plan for loadshedding or outages.
  • Application: You must attach a photo to your CV and provide a Loom/Video intro.
