About Hollard Insure & The Junior Claims Consultant Role
Hollard Insure is the short-term insurance arm of Hollard, South Africa’s largest independent insurance group.
An exciting opportunity has opened up for two Junior Claims Consultants within the Specialist Lines – Trucking Division in Parktown. This role focuses on processing, investigating, and settling heavy-vehicle and commercial trucking claims. Designed for motivated insurance professionals, this position ensures fast-track claims are registered within 24 hours, minimizes financial leakage, and provides technical assistance to broker partners across South Africa.
Key Responsibilities & Core Deliverables
As a Junior Claims Consultant within Trucking Claims, your deliverables will span four main operational pillars:
1. Claims Registration & Processing
- Rapid Registration: Register all incoming commercial trucking claims on the core insurance system within 24 hours of receipt.
- Workflow SLA: Process claims efficiently in line with Hollard’s operational standards, policy terms, and service level agreements (SLAs).
2. Assessment, Investigation & Financial Protection
- Fast-Track Claims: Evaluate and investigate fast-track commercial claims to ensure fair, valid outcomes.
- Leakage Control: Prevent unnecessary claim costs and mitigate financial leakage through accurate liability assessment and decision-making.
3. Broker Support & Technical Assistance
- Broker Relations: Provide sound technical advice, policy clarification, and administration support to independent brokers beyond routine claims processing.
- Query Resolution: Maintain professional communication with brokers and clients, responding to all written and telephonic inquiries within 24 hours.
4. Stakeholder Service Excellence
- Service Delivery: Deliver high-touch customer care to internal team members, assessors, salvage units, and external fleet clients.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
To qualify for consideration for this Grade C1 role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (Essential).
- NQF Level 4 Short-Term Insurance Qualification (FETC: Short-Term Insurance / Wealth Management or FAIS recognized equivalent).
- Regulatory Examination 1 (RE5) Certificate for Representatives (Advantageous).
- Required Skills & Work Competencies:
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with a customer-centric attitude.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, accountability, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Adaptability to handle dynamic workload spikes within commercial fleet claims.
- Location: Based in or able to commute daily to Parktown, Johannesburg.
