The Liberty Insurance Internship Programme is a part-time workplace development initiative hosted at Liberty’s head office in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Working directly under the mentorship of senior Insurance Leads, interns will rotate across key business streams, gaining hands-on exposure to customer operations, financial regulatory frameworks, data management, and risk administration.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Workstreams
During this specialized insurance internship, your daily deliverables and training modules will cover four core business pillars:
1. Insurance Value Chain & Client Operations
- End-to-End Service: Learn and support the full insurance servicing lifecycle across personal, commercial, and life solution streams.
- Customer Experience: Deliver client support, handle inquiries, and assist in providing appropriate insurance solutions tailored to customer demands.
2. Business Administration & Operations
- Process Optimization: Assist operational leads with business process execution, documentation, and data administration.
- Relationship Building: Collaborate with internal call centers, client support teams, and external vendor partners.
3. Data Analytics & Information Processing
- Data Management: Capture, analyze, and process client and policy information with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Operational Insights: Assist in interpreting operational metrics and compiling business performance tracking reports.
4. Risk & Compliance Frameworks
- Regulatory Awareness: Learn the financial regulations, compliance standards, and risk mitigation practices governing South Africa’s financial services sector.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
To qualify for entry into this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualification: Completed First Degree or Diploma in any of the following fields:
- Business Management / Business Administration
- Economics / Financial Management / Financial Planning
- Human Resource Management
- Information Technology (IT)
- Actuarial Science
- BSc Medical Sciences
- Demographic & Eligibility Requirements (Mandatory):
- Must be a South African Citizen.
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
- Currently unemployed.
- Not currently registered on any other learnership or internship.
- Not currently studying at any other tertiary institution.
- Technical Competencies: Basic data management/administration, written communication skills, and risk awareness.
- Core Soft Skills: Teamwork, adaptability, willingness to learn, structured task management, composure, and attention to detail.
- Location: Based in or able to commute to Braamfontein / Johannesburg.
