Career Advice for BI Applicants
- Tabular vs. Multidimensional: The job description specifically mentions both models. In your CV, make sure to differentiate your experience between DAX (for Tabular/Power BI) and MDX (for Multidimensional/SSAS cubes).
- Data Virtualization: The mention of Denodo is a “purple cow” (a rare requirement). If you have experience with data virtualization—connecting to data without moving it—highlight this prominently. It’s a specialized skill that will set you apart.
- The Centurion Tech Hub: Centurion is home to many parastatals and banks. This role likely involves a lot of “legacy” data (Netezza/Oracle) being moved into modern environments (AWS/Power BI). Emphasize your ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) skills.
