To help address the critical global shortage of digital protection specialists, Gijima is recruiting 15 learners for its intensive Occupational Certificate: Cybersecurity Analyst NQF Level 5 (SAQA ID 118986) learnership programme. Based out of Midrand, this structured 12-month curriculum provides a robust, real-world foundation in network security, threat detection, risk mitigation, and information system fortification. This opportunity equips youth with the practical operational toolkit needed to identify, analyze, and neutralize complex cyber threats within modern enterprise networks.
Technical Scope & Core Learning Domains
Selected learners will participate in a blend of theoretical coursework and practical workplace exposure, building specialized capabilities across the following core security domains:
1. Frontline Threat Detection & Incident Response
- Vulnerability Detection: Learn to scan networks, servers, and digital environments to identify security gaps and active infrastructure vulnerabilities.
- Incident Investigation: Assist in investigating, tracking, and mapping digital anomalies or unauthorized system access under the guidance of security engineers.
- Response Strategies: Learn standard protocols to isolate compromised assets and mitigate ongoing cyber attacks.
2. Network Security & Risk Management
- Infrastructure Fortification: Understand the setup and monitoring of firewalls, encryption layers, and access controls to secure corporate data networks.
- Risk Mitigation: Analyze information systems to align daily tech workflows with global information security best practices.
3. Systems Administration & Technical Reporting
- Data Compilation: Assist in logging security events, maintaining incident registers, and formatting clear diagnostic threat reports.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with team leads, end-users, and internal stakeholders to resolve daily digital security issues and queries.
Candidate Profile & Strict Eligibility Criteria
To satisfy Gijima’s strict compliance guidelines and automated screening filters, applicants must fulfill the following baseline parameters:
- Academic Base: A valid Matric certificate with passes in both Mathematics and English.
- Age Bracket: Must be between 18 and under the age of 35 as of 1 August 2026.
- Employment Status: Must be currently unemployed and must not be participating in any other live learnership or internship program.
- Geographic Radius: Must reside in or around the Gauteng province (Midrand Area).
- Citizenship & Background: Valid South African citizenship with a completely clear criminal record.
- Basic Digital Literacy: Foundational ability to utilize a personal computer confidently. Prior exposure to IT, networking, or digital security concepts is advantageous but not mandatory.
