About Motus VW Fourways & The Stock Controller Role
Motus Volkswagen Fourways is a premier flagship dealership within the Motus Corporation retail network—South Africa’s largest automotive group.
Motus VW Fourways is recruiting a meticulous and dependable Stock Controller to manage vehicle inventory, showroom stock audits, parts tracking, and vehicle intake administration. Working directly within the dealership operations team, the Stock Controller ensures that all new, pre-owned, and demo vehicles are accurately cataloged, inspected, tracked, and ready for customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities & Dealership Stock Workflows
The Stock Controller will execute six core inventory and administrative focus areas:
1. Vehicle Inventory & Stock Receiving
- Vehicle Intake Inspections: Receive incoming new, used, and demo vehicles from factory transport or trade-ins, inspecting for transport damage, accessories, and specification alignment.
- System Cataloging: Capture new stock into dealership management systems (e.g., Autoline / Kerridge / DriveSys) promptly upon arrival.
2. Stockyard Oversight & Security
- Stockyard Management: Organize stockyard layouts, park vehicles safely, and ensure key registers and security protocols are strictly enforced.
- Stock Audits: Conduct weekly and monthly physical stock counts and audit vehicle keys, books, and registration documentation.
3. Vehicle Movement & Delivery Readiness
- Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI): Coordinate vehicle movements to workshops, wash bays, and fitment centers for canopy, smash-and-grab, or accessory fitments.
- Showroom Display: Ensure showroom and outdoor display vehicles are clean, properly parked, battery-maintained, and priced accurately.
4. Administrative & Dealer Management Systems
- Filing & Documentation: Maintain accurate stock files, release notes, goods received notes (GRNs), and trade-in registration documentation.
Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for consideration for this position, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Completed Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (Mandatory).
- Work Experience:
- Previous experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Clerk, Goods Receiving Clerk, or Fleet Administrator in an automotive dealership or logistics environment (Highly Preferred).
- Licensing & Vehicle Requirements:
- Must possess a Valid South African Driver’s License (Mandatory — required to move vehicles on site).
- Computer & Systems Literacy:
- Proficiency in computer systems (MS Excel, Word, Email).
- Experience with dealer management software (e.g., Kerridge, Autoline, DriveSys) is a strong advantage.
- Clearance & Attributes:
- Must have a Clear Criminal Record and Clear Credit Record.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multi-vehicle movements under pressure.
