About Stripe & The Data Science Team
Stripe is a global technology powerhouse building programmable financial infrastructure for the internet. Processing trillions of dollars annually across more than 10 million businesses—representing roughly 1.6% of global GDP—Stripe provides the payment rails, risk infrastructure, and financial software that power solo founders and enterprise giants alike.
The Data Science & Analytics team at Stripe is recruiting Data Analyst Interns. This program offers high-performing quantitative students the opportunity to work directly with fundamental financial datasets, build scalable metrics pipelines, run A/B testing experiments, and deliver high-stakes business insights that impact millions of global merchants.
Key Responsibilities & Data Science Operations
The Data Analyst Intern will own end-to-end analytical projects across five primary pillars:
1. Product Analytics & A/B Experimentation
- Experimentation: Design, execute, and evaluate A/B testing experiments to measure the impact of new product launches, risk infrastructure upgrades, and feature enhancements.
- Business Impact: Perform deep-dive quantitative analyses to guide strategic decision-making across user products and payments infrastructure.
2. Metrics Engineering & Semantic Layer Development
- Metrics Building: Create, maintain, and extend Stripe’s centralized metrics semantic layer, business dashboards, and executive performance reports.
- Data Pipelines: Write, optimize, and debug automated data pipelines to transform rich, complex financial datasets into queryable data assets.
3. Advanced AI-Assisted Data Science
- AI Productivity: Leverage state-of-the-art AI-assisted tools to accelerate SQL coding, statistical model development, and exploratory data analysis.
4. Data Storytelling & Presentation
- Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex statistical outputs into actionable business recommendations and present final internship deliverables to data science leaders, cross-functional partners, and fellow interns.
