The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) is officially recruiting for four (4) Administration Clerks to support the State Forest Management division. This is an incredible “foot-in-the-door” opportunity for South African youth, as it requires zero prior experience.

The department is looking for candidates ready to be trained in the administrative backbone of South Africa’s conservation and forestry efforts across Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), and Mpumalanga.


The Role: Forestry Operations Support

Administration Clerks in State Forest Management ensure that the day-to-day operations of our national forests run smoothly. You will be the point of contact for documentation, data entry, and logistical support that allows foresters and conservationists to protect our natural resources.


Key Responsibilities (Training Provided)

  • Document Management: Filing, scanning, and organizing departmental records and permits.
  • Data Entry: Capturing forestry-related data and reports into the department’s digital systems.
  • Office Coordination: Handling internal and external enquiries, managing mail, and supporting meeting logistics.
  • Asset Support: Assisting with the tracking of office equipment and forestry tools.
  • Financial Admin: Helping with basic procurement forms and processing travel claims for field staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
  • Experience: NONE (This is an entry-level training post).
  • Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Office), good communication, and a willingness to learn government administrative protocols.
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
