About the Partnership & Internship Programme
The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA), in formal partnership with SAMDDRA, is inviting applications for a 12-month workplace learning internship.
This program is specifically designed to bridge the gap between academic tertiary qualifications and full-time employment for unemployed IT graduates in Gauteng. Interns will gain structured hands-on exposure, professional mentorship, and direct industry networking across key digital domains.
Specialization Tracks & Target Fields
The internship will provide practical workplace experience across five primary ICT streams:
- Systems & Software Development: Web development, application coding, logic testing, and backend database administration.
- Business Information Systems: Data analysis, enterprise resource mapping, process documentation, and database support.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI): Exposure to machine learning concepts, data processing workflows, and automation scripts.
- Systems Analysis: System requirements gathering, process flow diagramming, software architecture support, and QA testing.
- Digital Media: Graphic asset creation, multimedia content management, and digital platform optimization.
Candidate Profile & Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this SETA-funded graduate opportunity, applicants must strictly meet all of the following requirements:
- Citizenship: South African Citizen.
- Academic Qualification: A completed 3-Year National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent SAQA-accredited qualification in:
- Information Technology / Computer Science
- Software Development / Systems Analysis
- Business Information Systems / Information Management
- Artificial Intelligence / Data Science
- Digital Media / Multimedia Studies
- (or closely related ICT disciplines)
- SETA Exclusion Status: Must not be currently enrolled in or participating in any other MICT SETA or other SETA-funded program (an official affidavit is required).
- Location: Must be based in or able to commute within Gauteng.
