Operational Scope & Rotational HR Exposure
When selected for an active placement, the Human Capital Graduate will gain hands-on, rotational exposure across key functions:
1. Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Recruitment Support: Assist talent acquisition specialists with sourcing, screening candidate profiles, coordinating interview panels, and processing applicant tracking data.
- Integration: Support the delivery of seamless onboarding experiences for new hires across various Sanlam business clusters.
2. Talent Management, Learning & Performance
- Performance Cycles: Help coordinate key performance review milestones, employee development tracking, and talent succession mapping against the annual HR calendar.
- Research & Frameworks: Conduct research on modern HR trends, workplace strategies, and future-of-work models to help build progressive people tools and guidelines.
3. Organizational Psychology & HR Operations
- Documentation & Collateral: Produce high-quality presentations, policy guidelines, and training materials using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Data & Coordination: Maintain accurate HR records, extract reporting insights, and assist with cross-functional human capital initiatives.
Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for inclusion in Sanlam’s Human Capital graduate pipeline, candidates must meet the following baseline criteria:
- Academic Qualification: A completed Degree or National Diploma in:
- Human Resources Management
- Industrial Psychology
- Organizational Psychology
- (or a closely related commercial/humanities qualification)
- Experience Level: Recent graduates with zero experience are eligible. Prior exposure via university work-integrated learning (WIL), vacation work, or HR internships is advantageous.
- Software Baseline: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for drafting presentation collateral and analyzing basic talent data.
- Location: Based in or willing to relocate/commute to Cape Town, Western Cape.
