About the Role & Sporting Sector
Career Labs is recruiting a driven, commercially astute Sales Representative specializing in Tennis and Padel equipment to expand market share across sports clubs, country clubs, and retail partners in Johannesburg.
As padel and tennis experience explosive growth across South Africa, this role puts you at the forefront of the racquet sports industry. You will be responsible for growing equipment sales, forging lasting relationships with club managers and coaches, identifying new commercial opportunities, and driving B2B revenue targets across Gauteng.
Key Responsibilities & Commercial Workflows
The Sales Representative will execute five core commercial and field-sales functions:
- B2B Sales Growth: Drive and exceed monthly sales targets for tennis and padel gear (rackets, balls, accessories, court equipment) across sports clubs and retail outlets.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with sports club managers, committee members, tennis pros, and padel facility operators.
- New Business Development: Prospect and identify new commercial accounts, corporate partners, and school sports departments.
- In-Trade Demos & Merchandising: Coordinate product demonstrations, racket testing days, and brand activations at tennis and padel clubs.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, product trends, and emerging facility developments across the sports industry.
Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for consideration, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- Industry Experience (CRITICAL):
- Must have existing experience in the sports industry, specifically within Tennis and Padel equipment or retail (Mandatory — Note: Applications without sports industry experience will not be contacted).
- Sales Track Record:
- Proven sales experience and a solid understanding of the sporting goods market.
- Network Advantage:
- Existing relationships, contacts, or a professional network within South African sports clubs will be a distinct advantage.
- Core Competencies:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, target-driven approach to sales and business development.
- Logistical Requirements:
- Must have their own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel regularly to client sites across Johannesburg and Gauteng.
