About Sparrow FET College & The Apprenticeship Programme
Sparrow FET College empowers South African youth and adults through accredited skills development and artisan training.
Sparrow FET College is inviting applications for a massive 36-month structured apprenticeship programme for 100 unemployed youth based in Sophiatown, Johannesburg. The programme offers comprehensive practical workshop training combined with theoretical instruction, leading to recognized artisan qualifications in electrical installation or automotive motor mechanics, complete with a monthly stipend.
Intake Streams & Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet specific educational criteria depending on the chosen trade stream:
1. Electrician – 50 Learners
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science.
- NATED Electrical qualification (N4–N6).
2. Automotive Motor Mechanic – 50 Learners
Applicants must meet at least ONE of the following academic requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics.
- Grade 10 with NQF Level 2 Automotive qualification.
- Grade 10 with Technical Automotive and Mathematics.
- NATED Automotive qualification (N2–N6).
General Eligibility Rules:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Must be currently unemployed and fully committed to completing the full 36-month apprenticeship.
