SA Youth At Work is a youth employment and skills development initiative dedicated to placing young South African talent into high-impact corporate workplace programs.
SA Youth At Work is recruiting ambitious graduates for a 12-Month YES Programme in Data Analytics, AI & Research based in Centurion, Gauteng. Designed to bridge academic learning with cutting-edge tech industry demands, this structured 1-year programme offers hands-on experience in data visualization, machine learning concepts, AI tools integration, and quantitative research methodologies under the guidance of senior technical leads.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Deliverables
The Data Analytics, AI & Research Graduate will build core competencies across four key operational pillars:
1. Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Data Processing: Clean, structure, and analyze raw datasets to extract meaningful operational and business insights.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Assist in creating visual reporting dashboards, charts, and metrics for decision-makers using data tools.
2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Automation Solutions
- AI Tools Exposure: Learn and apply emerging generative AI models, natural language processing (NLP) applications, and workflow automation frameworks.
- Model Testing: Assist with testing, prompt engineering, and refining AI tools applied to real-world business challenges.
3. Research & Technical Intelligence Gathering
- Market & Tech Research: Conduct quantitative and qualitative research into emerging tech trends, data governance, and AI innovations.
- Documentation: Synthesize research findings into clear executive summaries, research papers, and technical guides.
4. Problem Solving & Project Execution
- Analytical Solutions: Apply systematic problem-solving methods to troubleshoot data discrepancies and optimize business workflows.
Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for consideration for this graduate opportunity, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- Age & Demographic Criteria:
- Must be a South African Citizen aged 18 to 34 years (Mandatory).
- Educational Qualifications:
- Completed Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Higher Qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related analytical/research discipline (Mandatory).
- Core Competencies & Aptitude:
- Strong demonstrated interest or aptitude in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Research methodologies.
- Good analytical, numerical, and logical problem-solving capabilities.
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and explore new technologies and software platforms rapidly.
- Transport & Location:
- Based in or able to commute daily to Centurion, Gauteng.
- Advantageous: Having own reliable transport is a strong advantage.
