This fixed-term internship offers recent financial graduates structured workplace training, direct mentorship, and operational accounting experience across core enterprise functions including Debtors, Creditors (Accounts Payable), and specialized Costing and Menu Financials within the commercial catering sector.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Financial Operations

The Finance Graduate Intern will gain practical workplace exposure across three core accounting disciplines:

1. Debtors & Accounts Receivable

  • Invoice Processing: Capture and process customer invoices accurately and timeously.
  • Reconciliations: Perform debtor reconciliations, reviewing delivery notes and commercial supporting documentation.
  • Adjustments & Queries: Process discounts, credit notes, and pricing adjustments; resolve customer invoicing queries.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audit preparation by gathering financial documentation.

2. Creditors & Accounts Payable

  • Supplier Invoices: Capture supplier invoices, COD transactions, and overhead expense payments.
  • Reconciliations & Rebates: Complete supplier payment reconciliations, processing credit notes and supplier claims.
  • System Recording: Ensure all accounts payable transactions are accurately logged across internal ERP platforms.

3. Costing & Menu Financial Analysis

  • Menu Costings: Calculate menu costings according to airline specifications and commercial culinary development guidelines.
  • Pricing Accuracy: Compare menu specifications with airline documentation to ensure standard cost development tallying.
  • Cost-of-Sales: Extract and validate financial data from online systems to support Cost-of-Sales reporting and price master updates.

  • Technical Literacy & Skills:
    • Strong computer literacy (MS Excel and financial accounting software).
