Career Advice & Interview Prep

  1. The “Kruger” Context: Even if you are applying for Finance or HR, you are working for a conservation body. In your interview, mention your passion for National Heritage and how your specific skill (e.g., Accounting) helps protect SA’s biodiversity.
  2. Relocation Readiness: Skukuza and Phalaborwa are remote. If asked, confirm you have considered the logistics of living near or in a National Park.
  3. Document Precision: SANParks is a government-linked body—they are very strict. If your copies aren’t clearly certified or your transcript is missing, they will disqualify you immediately.

Possible Interview Questions

  • “Why do you want to start your career in a conservation environment rather than a corporate city office?”
  • “How would you handle the challenge of working in a remote location like Skukuza?”
  • “Describe a time you had to work with a team to solve a problem during your studies.” (Focus on collaboration).
