About SAB & The Data Analyst Role
South African Breweries (SAB), a subsidiary of AB InBev—the world’s largest brewing company—is a leader in South Africa’s consumer goods and beverage manufacturing sector.
SAB is recruiting a meticulous, detail-oriented Data Analyst (Ref: 30104750) based at their global headquarters in Sandton, Johannesburg. Unlike pure statistical modeling roles, the key purpose of this position is master data governance—focusing directly on the creation, maintenance, risk assessment, and validation of customer and material master data across SAB’s enterprise resource planning systems (SAP) to support seamless Order-to-Cash operations.
Key Responsibilities & Master Data Workflows
The Data Analyst will execute core operational deliverables across two primary data streams:
1. Customer Master Data Management & Governance
- Customer Onboarding: Facilitate end-to-end onboarding for new trading and non-trading customer accounts.
- Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate records for sales, distribution, and credit terms within SAP.
- Risk & SLA Management: Perform customer risk assessments, manage daily service level agreements (SLAs) on incoming data requests, and resolve onboarding queries.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage daily with external customers and internal Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to verify document accuracy and maintain dataset consistency.
2. Material Master Data Management
- Material Master Creation: Create, update, and audit material master data records across FMCG product lines.
- System Queue Management: Manage daily SLAs on ServiceNow (SNOW) ticketing systems to address material master data queries.
- Data Quality Assurance: Maintain maximum data integrity, accuracy, and structural consistency across enterprise datasets.

- Educational Qualifications:
- Completed Matric / Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification (Mandatory).
- Advantageous: Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Data Analytics.
- Software & Enterprise System Competencies (CRITICAL):
- SAP System Experience: Hands-on experience working in SAP (ERP) is a strict requirement (Mandatory).
- Advanced MS Excel: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data reconciliation, pivot tables) and MS Office suite (Mandatory).
- ServiceNow (SNOW): Familiarity managing ticket workflows in SNOW or similar service desks.
- Industry & Domain Knowledge:
- Proven experience in a fast-paced FMCG administration or data environment (Mandatory).
- Strong practical understanding of the Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle, legal business documentation, and commercial credit management.
- Personal Competencies:
- High attention to detail with strong master data governance capabilities.
- Excellent time management, coordination, and interpersonal communication skills under tight deadline pressure.
