The Data Analyst will play a key role in transforming complex customer, transactional, and product data into actionable insights. Working onsite at the Johannesburg headquarters, you will monitor business performance end-to-end, build interactive dashboards, perform root-cause investigations, and deliver data-driven narratives to senior executives.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Deliverables

The Data Analyst will drive analytics operations across four core functional areas:

1. Performance Monitoring & Anomaly Detection

• End-to-End Tracking: Monitor business KPIs across all player, product, customer, and financial touchpoints to detect irregular trends or revenue leakage.
• Root-Cause Investigations: Conduct detailed deep-dives into system faults, performance shifts, operational inefficiencies, or suspicious account behavior.

2. Player & Transactional Analytics

• Player Behavior Analysis: Perform deep-dive analyses on user journeys, player retention, wagering activity, and lifetime value (LTV) drivers.
• Profitability Modeling: Analyze transactional patterns and product yield to identify opportunities for business growth and operational optimization.

3. Reporting, Visualization & Business Narratives

• Dashboard Development: Build, maintain, and publish intuitive reports and visualizations using Power BI and advanced Excel models.
• Executive Storytelling: Translate complex statistical patterns and mathematical findings into clear, concise strategic narratives for decision-makers.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation

• Problem Solving: Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, fraud, finance, tech) to solve complex operational challenges using data models.

Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements

To qualify for consideration for this position, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:

• Educational Qualifications:
  • Completed Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field (Essential).
• Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a dedicated Data Analytics role (Essential).
• Technical Stack & Tool Proficiency:
  • Desirable / Highly Advantageous:
    • Relational Databases: Microsoft SQL Server (writing queries, data extraction, joins).
    • Business Intelligence: Microsoft Power BI (dashboard creation, DAX, data modeling).
    • Data Modeling: Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
• Soft Skills & Behavioural Competencies:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to convey complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
