The hotel is seeking a driven Cluster Reactive Sales Executive (Junior) to join its regional reservations and events booking center. In this role, you will handle incoming sales inquiries, room reservations, catering blocks, and event space bookings across cluster properties. You will optimize revenue through active upselling, cross-selling sister properties, and navigating Marriott PMS ecosystems like Opera and MARSHA.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Deliverables
The Cluster Reactive Sales Executive will execute sales operations across four primary functional areas:
1. Reactive Sales & Enquiry Handling
- Inquiry Processing: Process incoming transient room, group, and event sales requests received via phone, email, or online channels.
- Availability & Rates: Verify room, conference, and event space availability, confirming special rate codes (corporate, government, travel agent, wholesale, employee discounts).
- Revenue Maximization: Apply consultative upselling techniques to maximize Average Daily Rate (ADR) and Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR).
2. Systems Administration & PMS Input
- PMS Operations: Input accurate reservation, group block, and profile details into Opera PMS and MARSHA systems.
- Marriott Bonvoy Integration: Capture guest loyalty profiles, IATA numbers, and special request flags to ensure flawless arrival experiences.
- Cross-Property Referral: Direct guest inquiries to sister cluster properties on sold-out dates to retain group revenue within the brand network.
3. Guest Relations & Escalations
- Customer Engagement: Provide detailed property information, policy breakdowns (guarantee, cancellation), and amenities overviews using Marriott service standards (e.g., LEARN/LEAP protocols).
- Issue Resolution: Handle guest inquiries, rate discrepancies, and reservation changes using proper escalation frameworks.
4. Quality & Compliance
- Data Integrity: Maintain absolute confidentiality of guest information and corporate pricing structures.
- Brand Standards: Adhere strictly to Marriott quality assurance standards, telephone etiquette, and team goals.
Candidate Profile & Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for consideration for this position at Marriott International, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric / High School Diploma or equivalent (Essential).
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Reservations Agent in transient reservations, an events booking center, or hotel sales environment (Essential).
- Hands-on experience using Property Management Systems (Opera PMS and/or MARSHA experience highly preferred).
- Technical & Soft Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills and professional telephone etiquette.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities with active listening skills.
- Ability to handle high-volume inquiries under pressure in a fast-paced sales environment.
