Vaal University of Technology (VUT) is calling on all current students requiring Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and graduates seeking internships to register on the WILMS platform. This is the official gateway to access placements across a wide range of industries.
📍 Available Fields
Opportunities are available in, but not limited to:
- Engineering & Science
- Agriculture & Food Services
- Tourism & Sport Management
- General Business Fields
📄 Required Documents (Checklist)
To be considered, you must upload the following (ensure all are clear scans):
- Updated CV.
- Certified ID Copy (Not older than 3 months).
- Certified Matric Certificate (Not older than 3 months).
- Academic Transcript (Merged with your WIL Letter if a student, or your Completion Letter/Degree if a graduate).
Critical Rule
All certifications must be recent. If your ID or Matric copies were certified more than 3 months ago, you must get them re-stamped at a police station or Post Office before uploading.
Career Advice: Making Your WILMS Profile Stand Out
- The “Merged” Document: Do not upload your Transcript and WIL letter as separate files if the system asks for one. Use a free online tool like ILovePDF to merge them into a single PDF.
- Keyword Optimization: Since this is a database, use clear keywords in your CV (e.g., “Chemical Engineering Student” or “Hospitality Graduate”) so the system matches you to the right employers.
- Regular Updates: Even if you registered last year, log in and “Update” your profile. This often moves your name to the top of the “Recently Active” list for recruiters.
🎤 Possible Interview Questions (For WIL Placements)
- “What specific skills from your academic modules are you most excited to apply in a real workplace?”
- “WIL is a learning period. How do you handle receiving constructive criticism on your work?”
- “What do you know about our company’s role in this industry, and why do you want to do your placement here specifically?”
