Renwis is hosting an intensive Cybersecurity Defender Skills Programme specifically targeting unemployed youth residing in Limpopo. This initiative is designed to equip candidates with foundational cyber defense, network security, and threat-mitigation capabilities to prepare them for entry-level IT and cybersecurity roles.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Modules
Participants in this skills programme will undergo specialized practical and theoretical training covering:
1. Fundamentals of Cyber Defense & Network Security
- Security Architecture: Understand core networking concepts, firewalls, threat vectors, and system vulnerabilities.
- Incident Response: Learn basic threat monitoring, detection protocols, and incident reporting procedures.
2. Digital Hygiene & Compliance
- Data Protection: Study best practices for safeguarding sensitive systems, data privacy compliance, and system access controls.
- Threat Intelligence: Identify phishing schemes, malware mechanisms, and social engineering tactics.
Applicant Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for entry into this funded cybersecurity training intake, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Employment Status: Must be currently unemployed.
- Age Limit: Aged between 18 and 35 years.
- Residency: Must reside within the Limpopo province.
- Academic Qualification: Grade 12 / Matric Certificate with Mathematics as a passed subject.
- Funding Exclusivity: Must not be currently participating in or receiving funding from any other government-funded bursary, learnership, or skills programme.
